The Government has cancelled the annual £300 heating allowance for this winter. This will cause huge problems for the elderly and infirm.
Worse still, from 1 October 2024 to 31 December the price for energy for a typical household who use electricity and gas and pay by Direct Debit will probably go up by £149 per year.

This is an increase of 10% and adds around £12 per month to an average bill.
If you add the cancelled heating allowance £300 to the £144/yr increase in energy prices you are looking at (on average) a loss of £444!​
